With the season 2021/22 Xenia Wiest is the artistic director and head choreographer at Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater Schwerin. Under Xenia Wiest‘s directorship the Ballett X Schwerin will, as the ballet company of the North, become a strong cultural brand with an international charisma and appeal. The company consists of 14 dancers. Ballett X Schwerin wants to venture into new territory, expand and collaborate collectively with internationally renowned colleagues and artists. As a choreographer Xenia Wiest finds her inspiration in the musical material and the individual body dynamics on a strong classical base, with neoclassical and contemporary influences. Class and rehearsals focus on a holistic approach, combining the knowledge of sports and dance science as well as psychology, to create a healthy, positive and productive work environment. |
